Almost shot my age today

Shot a three-over 73; my best round ever. I'll be 72 on June 16th.

Yes, it was on the city’s short municipal course, about 500-700 yards less than what I usually play. But, still, I was one under after 14. But then, I started thinking about my score … and that’s the kiss of death for any round: two double bogies and a bogey on the last four holes. Still, five birdies and 7 pars. Not bad for an old man.

Just thought I’d post this here for the record:

For those not familiar with the markings: a check mark on the first line means I hit the fairway (the left or right arrows shows the direction I was off); the check marks on the second line means I hit the green in regulation (10 out of 18 overall). And the number on the third line is the number of putts on that hole … 29 total or 7 under regulation. I chipped in from off the green on the 18th hole for my final birdie of the day.
