The sad thing about the VA cuts is that they are already understaffed biggly of 2 years. Not only do I have several friends on the VA staff, I am also a disabled vet and have done research for and with them before I retired.

It used to take under 2 weeks to get an audiology appointment for hearing aids adjustment or replacement - now it is over 3 months! I wish Musk would sit on his chainsaw near a VA hospital and bleed out waiting to get into the ER.

We really need to stop fighting against each other and go after the Bozo in Washington. As long as they keep us fighting against each other we will never have the necessary strength to overcome these buttheads. Established organizations should already know this and be acting accordingly. The damage done in the next 4 years will take decades to fix and repair. It will depleat the strength and power people will need to set it straight. (( OR EVEN TRY )) km

These university administrators are cowards. The moral and right ting to do, is to stand up to these bully tactics and tell them to shove it. Let them remove funding and let the students and would be students know why they cant get grants, why research has ceased, let them know it is their own legislators that are the reason. The only way to stop these little petty authoritarians is to call their bluff, make pariahs of them. Exclude them from honest society

As someone of Jewish descent, I was appalled by the Hamas attack on Israel and by Netanyahu’s attempt at a Palestinian genocide. Closer to home, we have a bunch of clueless rethuglicans trying to drag us back to the frequent epidemics of my childhood. Is this how a world run by rightwing crazies snuffs itself out. Sure looks like that from my vantage point.

Thank you for this article. So much is at stake now including everything you noted above so clearly, as well as the security of Europe with the betrayal of Ukraine, and potentially Taiwan, as Trump courts the favor of the world's strongmen. It is a lot to take in. As Steve Bannon originally recommended to the first Trump administration: "muzzle velocity". His tactical advice was to overwhelm political foes with the volume and pace of offenses that take everyone off balance so they become ineffectual in responding and coordinating. Now Trump has the team that is doing just that, and we are reeling from the brutality and venality, as well as the sheer lack of empathy and concern for anyone other than themselves.
